Neruda metis
Andrew V. Z. BrowerIntroduction
A recently-described species from Maranhão State of northeastern Brazil. Male specimens exhibit the expanded costal marginal area of the hindwing that accommodates androconial scales.Characteristics
Considered by its authors to be most closely-related to N. aoede and sharing its red-and-yellow "dennis-ray" pattern, but differing most obviously by the presence of marginal white spots on the hindwing. There are differences on the male genitalic structures as well.References
